That wonderful pastor over there is what I would like to be one day just calm and knows how to listen.I wanna be able to understand and hear other people with respect and understanding while showing what being a Christian truly means. Love. I Love the Lord and Im also willing to love other people no matter what they believe in. I want everyone to know how beautiful it is to have God in our lives but I'm never gonna push him to anybody if they gonna believe it has to be from the heart not because they are forced to. I understand the girl with the cap I was raised to be a Catholic but when I was 15 I decided to leave that religion. I never liked the wooden images and never learned the rosary. I remove myself from that particular religion but I never remove God from my life he is my Best friend ❤️. Lucky me my family dont really care about my decision my moms a Catholic she also in the past kinda venture with different religions my dad is also born in a Roman Catholic mom but he identifies now as a Muslim while my sister is a born again Christian. Me Im just a bible believing 17 year old. I don't really have anyone to teach me about God everyone around is just doing their own thing but I'm happy that last year I'm able to buy my self a bible and now I love Jesus more than ever cause back then I have doubts all I wanna believe in is the creator the father cause I know in my heart he is realand Im skeptical about the lord Jesus but now that Im reading the new testament I dont think I would ever have those questions in my head anymore whether he is the Lord. Like this people I dont have religion in my life but I have the Lord and I think thats more than enough ❤️

I love the fact that she is warm. Tbh, I can sometimes try to force people into christianity and after watching this I'm going to be better. Like I'll mention it to my friebds I'll invite them to church but I'll be warm and let God work in their lives. All those people haven't had a good experience with God, but as Christians (talking to me mostly hahaha) we need to stop getting into arguments we need to be united. And if someone doesn't believe we should just let God work in them.

Explain if there is a plan, everything happens for a reason to god knew time lines of all. Why does purity of children result in aids born, still births, murders to cancer? If there is a god, i sometimes think the design/plan was to see what we come up with & attempt to be a decent human being in the religion of reality. In other words, this giant world is just the sand box we play in... everything does happen (we can guarantee that) but it’s how you conduct yourself that gives it meaning.

The guy jas a very very similar story to me, I was raised in a morman family. Went to an LDS private school. And I got into a argument with the teacher(whom was 24 year old unaccredited teacher) over dinosaurs. Which I got the stupidest answer to date on a conversation. He can tell I had out started him at about 12 years old, and had the classroom on my side. He got angry and raged out of the room and we didnt have class the rest of the day. It was such a good feeling of victory, first time I've ever felt that in my life. I continually searched for the truth and evidence and wanted to have the upper hand in debates. After a short time I was lead to atheism. And for the first time in my life I found peace in knowing there is no God. Life got much better from then on

When it comes down to it for me, if there really is a God, I doubt he would care if a person believed in him. If he cares more about someone believing in him than that person living a good life, I wouldn't want to end up with him.
Religion all falls apart for me with the idea that "you have to believe in my God or you'll end up in the bad place". Going by that, Ghandi, Mother Theresa, and many other famously devout people wouldn't get into heaven just because they worshipped the wrong God.

    • The Lawn Pastor
The Lawn Pastor Day ago +1

Men and women have created millions of gods throughout human history. The issue being dealt with in this video is the One True God of the Bible and our existence. You can survey all major world religions and their common denominator is pretty much the same: do good and you'll be rewarded (I know I've immensely over-simplified, but the basic premise is there). Here's the problem: Christianity says the exact opposite. It says that no matter how much good you do, you'll never be able to justify yourself.
I like to use this illustration: you're sitting in a chair, right? try picking yourself up so that you're entirely off the chair, including your hands which are touching the chair. Sure, you may be able to "hop" or something like that, but you're unable to truly perform the act of picking yourself up (gravity and all that, right?). Anyways, Christianity says the same thing about our spiritual condition. We are unable to save ourselves spiritually, just like we're unable to pick ourselves up physically.
That doesn't really sound like something man would create, does it? I don't know about you, but I don't like feeling helpless. I would never have created a religion that says "I can't but God can."
In truth, that's the message of Christianity in a nut shell. "When we were yet without strength, Christ died for the ungodly." :)

  • Laura Bowden
    Laura Bowden Day ago

"There will always be conflict in religion because religion is man-made."
I love that, because if I want to believe in God, I want it to be on my own terms. I don't want some Bible telling me how to act or what to believe. I want my own beliefs in interpretations of God, not from some out-dated opinions from men who lived two-thousand years ago. If Christianity wants to survive, they MUST adapt with modern society, otherwise people will continue to reject them.

    • Laura Bowden
      Laura Bowden 20 hours ago

+The Lawn Pastor Yes. Like many people before me who have picked and chosen bits out of the Bible to fit their lifestyles, beliefs, moral compasses etc.

There are many interpretations of a God-every religion, even 'pagan' religions are connected by the idea of a god or gods/goddesses to help guide them through living a full and good life, or to bring them comfort, or to give them purpose. Just because I take bits out of the Bible that I feel resonates with me, doesn't mean that there isn't any point in worshipping God or a God. It doesn't make sense that you claim that I would be worshipping myself. Reverends and pastors interpret the Bible all the time to relay their lessons back to their congregation, but they're not creating a new God or recreating themselves as God.
Plus, the Bible was written two-thousand years ago, and the revised King James version of the Bible was released a few hundred years ago, when societal views were extremely different surrounding homosexuality, women, relationships etc.
Having grown up with Christianity, I make it a point to keep an open mind. There are parts of the Bible and Christianity that I don't agree with, and that's okay. The New Testament and the teachings about love and acceptance and basic morals (such as 'Love thy neighbour as yourself and do to others as you would have them do to you and 'Thou shalt no kill') from Jesus stuck with me through to adulthood, and I want to believe that there is a benevolent, non-vindictive God who just wants us to be happy. I don't want to be scare-mongered into believing that He exists, because that would make Him an arrogant, self-absorbed God, and then he wouldn't be any better than we imperfect beings. Going to church wouldn't make me any better of a person than those who don't.
So yes, He is my version of an ideal God for me, and that Jesus was his son and a spiritual healer who delivered His message of love, respect and acceptance to the world. Everyone's version of God is different, and I don't want to think of God as somebody who destroys entire civilisations or condemns them to an eternity of damnation because they didn't worship Him. That would make Him a tyrant, and so I don't. He is my Father, he loves me as Jesus said, but I will worship Him as a model surrounding love for myself and others, respect for others (including other religions and cultures) and acceptance for different kinds of people.
P.S. Writing this has truly made me think about my own relationship with God, so in a way I thank you for giving me this opportunity to ponder my own agnosticism. I hope you don't take this as an insult to your faith or as a rejection to Christianity or the Bible, I'm just expanding on what I think. Anyways, have a good day and I respect whatever you have to say. :)

    • The Lawn Pastor
      The Lawn Pastor Day ago

Please read this with an open mind, as I'm not simply trying to cause an argument. If you want to believe in God on your own terms aren't you, in essence, the "god of your god?" You've created a god that fits your lifestyle, beliefs, personality, etc, and now you're worshiping him/her as god (in whatever form that looks like for you).
Really think this through, Laura. If you're the creator of your own god, why bother to worship it? Shouldn't you just worship yourself at this point?
These are questions you need to ask yourself that (potentially) have eternal consequences. I think that if you actually dug into the Bible you'd see that the opinions are neither outdated nor simply from men. Again, I'm not trying to come across as a "bigoted jerk" and I hope I haven't. One thing I've been learning recently is to challenge my own belief structure and convictions and see how and if they actually line up with logic and reality. I challenge you to do the same, and you just may be pleasantly surprised with what happens. :) Regards.

"From my perspective, everything you've said, you can do without any religion, and it's completely freeing for me."--Atheist/non-believer
Folks, that statement made by the young man in this video is chilling. Honestly, even as a Christian, I would have to agree with his conclusion! Here's the reason: the god Rev. Erica Campbell promoted in this video is not the God of the Bible and reality. He's not simply someone who "wants to know you" and "cares about every single hair on your head." Although those beautiful statements are true, they are by no means the whole truth. My heart hurts for these three individuals because they were confronted with God as A solution rather than THE solution. Jesus Christ isn't simply a crutch or one of the many sources of satisfaction in this life. He is King of kings and Lord of lords. Only when people realize that Jesus Christ is the only Way, Truth, and Life will they desire to take up their crosses and follow Him.

I’m a Christian, but sometimes I feel like I’m drifting away from God. I often find myself thinking of the Bible like I think of any other book that I’ve read, like it’s just a story, nothing is true, but I also feel a connection to the people in it.

      The Lawn Pastor Day ago

Welcome to reality, Dino! Life is full of spiritual ups and downs (I like to consider it something compared to a rollercoaster). Doubts are okay, as long as you don't leave them unanswered. I won't attack you with a comment the size of Russia, but I will challenge you to do research into the preservation of the Bible. You'll be amazed at seeing how God has preserved His Word! I'd also like to challenge you to check out Answers In Genesis' website/material. They're a great resource that combats against the Theory of Evolution and other societally accepted beliefs. I hope this helps you. If you'd like to chat at all, let me know! God bless.

It’d be so controversial if ppl who believe there is nothing after life but only as dude in the video said it’s “lights out” went to complete darkness when they died for eternity and ppl who do believe in god who lived a faithful and fruitful life go to heaven. Basically after death you go to whatever you believe in. Believe in Nothing: go to nothing, believe in God+ living a fruitful life: go to heaven, believe in God+not taking faith serious, committing sins w/o forgiveness: go tohell🤷🏽‍♀️💀

If I could ask God anything, it's just that.

    • The Lawn Pastor
      The Lawn Pastor Day ago

Adam and Eve had God's vocal word.We have God's written word. Allow me to use an over-simplified illustration: your father goes on a long business trip. He writes you, but you never open the letters. Instead, you are frustrated over the fact that your dad isn't talking to you. I know the comparison is by no means exact, but the basic premise of it is true. God has given us His Word--written, yes, but His Word nonetheless. It's our responsibility to "listen" to Him by reading it. :)

I am Agnostic, raised in a very Christian family. Some accept it, some do not. Not all Christians are condescending assholes. Some are. Also, bugs me that Nina said she was Agnostic, then also an Atheist and then believes Hinduism is made up by "just stories". To be Agnostic is to be extremely open minded that anything is possible and there are many possibilities to our after life. These people just seem young and confused about who they are and what they believe.

@8:40-8:45 these are words christains like to express about God which lack, if God knows all the hair on my head why does God need me to conform/submit to him in a relationship through religion?

I feel like everyone had a good point as to why they feel the way they feel and it’s beautiful that they can talk about it without being attacked...she represented Christians very well. ✊🏿

As a born again believer I'd like to say thank you for showing this Pator in a favorable light. Thank you for having a loving christian as your example. Love is the main calling asides from winning souls to Christ for us christians. Unfortunately it can be easy not to show love when there are disagreements as Christians are human also. This pastor was an amazing example of what we Christians are supposed to amplify to all walks of life, love.

First off, I'm not a god person. Perhaps I could fall into the category of agnostic.
Anyway, isn't a female pastor another contradiction of Christianity? It's been awhile since I've discussed this particular topic, but I think somewhere in Matthew he talks about why women CANNOT be pastors or any other spiritual leader of Christ. Those who follow any of the abrahamic doctrines tend to pick and choose what to practice. Supposedly that's blasphemy, along w fundamentalism.

I guess the reason I don't believe in any religion is that there's no evidence for it. There's no reason for me to believe in the Christian God over the Norse gods or Egyptian gods. Furthermore, there's no earthly way to prove if God is real or if heaven is real. I'm a concrete evidence kind of guy, and I need a bigger reason to get me to spend 52 hours of my year at church. I guess that's why a belief system doesn't resonate with me. Yes, I find the idea of an afterlife satisfying. I think that having a God who cares for you and looks after you every moment of your life would be a comforting thing. But I have never experienced a single thing that could make any of that feel real to me.

Erthquake ok I hear you. But if I -like you said- hear god through songs just because I want to hear him, want him to speak to me etc. ...then you won’t hear him if you don’t really want to. God is always there, we just really need to seek him.
You know, your family’s faith is not automatically supposed to be your faith. I know many of my friends just went to church because their parents went, and they always said “i don’t hear god, i don’t really feel a personal connection with him”. They left church or just lived a different live, and after a time they went trough a difficult situation and fell into God’s arms, into his love and now they feel him and they really see what was going on then. It’s the personal connection and relationship you’re supposed to have with god, not your family’s faith. Nothing against your family or anything. But nobody can get you to Christ through them, only you can do that with Jesus. I hope I don’t make you feel like I’m dragging my belief on you, it’s just that I wanted to tell you this...god bless I will pray for you.

i believe in god, and have strong faith in him, but would never ever push it on someone to believe in god too. what you believe in is none of my business, and shouldn’t affect how we communicate or how we respect each other. just don’t belittle my personal beliefs if you don’t agree with them. i personally don’t really believe all of the stories that are in the Bible and that are taught in church, but that doesn’t make me any less of a believer. just be true to your beliefs, don’t ever let anyone make you feel bad about what you don’t or don’t believe it ❤️

I am a Latter Day Saint, but one of my best friends was an Atheist. We had nice convesations about our faith (or lack thereof). I feel that if people could do this, have a friendly discussion, there would be more peace. Thank you for giving me hope that men can understand each other, without fighting, without yelling, just listening, and understanding. Love this. Thanks.
