Thanx for keeping it real. Most of us don't wear expensive makeup every day. I keep expensive makeup for special occasions. I can afford more expensive makeup but I don't always see the point. I am not sure if I should invest in Mercier setting powder. Is it that special? Would you look for products to put together a work look for $100?

I love Tarte's Smooth Operator Translucent loose setting powder for right after foundation application. So fine and melts into the skin setting all liquid products beautifully. Then I use the Clinique Stay-Matte Universal Blotting Powder on the go when I need to mattify some shine. It's in a compact (great for travel) and doesn't cake up no matter how often I apply it throughout the day. Both are my holy grails!

    • Emmkah Peh
Emmkah Peh 2 years ago +2

+Karina Gomes Mineral oil molecules are luckily too big to actually get into your (or anyone else's) pores, which in turn means mineral oil cannot possibly clog pores. So if a mineral oil based product breaks you out it is actually some other ingredient, that causes the problem. :o( (In the Rimmel powder it could be the included fragrance, which is **always** sensitising to skin, even if you don't see actual redness on the skin.)

hi tati! love your videos. I recently purchased the rcma powder that you and Kathleen lights loves!! and I was surprised to see the ingredients are only TALC and SILICA!. what?? isn't talc so unhealthy and was spoken against using it on the skin for so long! even proven to cause cancer! now, I really want to hear your opinion because I was seeing you as a woman who cares about what she puts on her skin. and now I'm not sure I want to use it on my clients anymore. not to mention that the great price?- not so great when you basicly buy talc. Confession: I'm scared of all-natural makeup. Seems counter-intuitive, but I feel like without preservatives and chemicals, they go bad faster, dry out faster, lose their texture, change color, etc. Cosmetics retain their feel, texture and color with the help of lots of chemicals and preservatives. I personally am not afraid of these chemicals and believe they are mostly safe, so I don't waste my money on expensive "natural" makeup. I made the mistake of buying a very expensive, all natural concealer at my local health grocery store, and it looked AWESOME... for about a couple of months. They it turned into this DISGUSTING, bad smelling, gloppy mess and I had to throw it out. So... no more lol.

Tati, I have been wanting to comment on your videos have changed my makeup game completely and I consider you to be like my personal beauty product mentor. I remember my grandmother having the Coty Airspun Powder when I was a lil girl (I'm now 29) and I kept seeing you use it. well, I have super dry skin and almost all of my powders, even high end, would give me a cakey type appearance or creases. I bought the Coty powder this past Saturday after searching for it at multiple drug stores, finally found it at Walgreens. IT IS EFFING AMAZING and makes my skin look incredible!
Thank you so much for everything you do and keep doing what you're doing cuz you are kick ass, gorgeous, witty and just so informative while still being charming and entertaining. I truly look forward to every video alert I get when you post vids.
    much love,

What shade of Rimmel do you use?

    • VL L
      VL L 2 years ago +1

If you don't know which shade to use, try Temptalia's handy Foundation Matrix. The translucent one is pretty good! That's the one I use. My few qualms with the Rimmel Stay Matte powder are: a) packaging is unstable so put a rubber band around it for travel b) develops hard pan easily, you might want to scrap a thin layer off the top once in a while c) does the job excellently but is a tiny bit chalky. However, this does not compromise the finish tooooooo much.

Lol, powders are MEANT for oily skin and I'm pretty sure that's the purpose of face powder... To help with shiny, oily skin. If you were wondering if it will break you out if you have oily skin, then it won't break you out...
