I hear it SO often from people.... oh I eat healthy, I just have a slow metabolism, it's not fair... Even for me, when I first started losing weight, I didn't want to count calories. I started exercising and eating healthier, but I gained some weight! Because turns out, even healthy food can have LOADS of calories (nuts, peanutbutter....). I only started really losing when I started counting EVERY single calorie I eat. They have taste samples at the supermarket? Write it down! I have 3 grapes while cooking? Write it down! Also: weighing everything. 15-20-30 grams of nuts is a lot less than I'd estimate. So now I am losing weight!Only thing I don't get, is that they were keeping food diaries. How can they keep food diaries and still be off so much?? If they really write down everything they eat, they'd know how many calories it were! Why would they be lying? Or is it 'cause they really don't count stuff. How can that be off so much??

I actually somewhat looked how much he added of that olive oil and it's at least 2tbsp which makes it 200kcal not 100kcal. :D When you start counting macros you realize that you were actually overeating and not under eating many days. :D

Seriously how can you NOT know what you're eating? I got here because I'm trying to lose weight and I figured out I'm actually eating less than I should and it's mostly fat (crisps are my love) by calorie table. But I KNEW exactly that I'm eating crisps and I shouldn't!

I’m a recovering anorexic and it’s amazing to me how some people can keep eating without realizing it. I’m so aware of all the food I eat, and I subconsciously keep tallying up the calories in everything I eat. I almost wish I could eat without feeling guilty about it! Imagine snacking without realizing it.

what i hate about the nutritional advice here is that fat is still held responsible for what sugar, starches and the frequent eating did. stop carbs and grazing...fat is not the problem. omad (one meal a day) is not the problem. fat keeps you full and away from snacks! omad helps reduce insulin resistance and your organs and digestive system can regenerate in between meals...it‘s not calories, it‘s processed foods, especially processed carbs, that mess up your organism. congratulations to them that they lost a bunch of weight!

The thing that helps in preventing the snacking when going to the movies--all the food they serve is hideously overpriced. Once in a while I get in line, look at the prices, remember the prices for the very same food at the supermarket, and that completely motivates me to get off the line and back into the movie theater. :D
Wow, the sister is a bit of a pig. 7,500 calories on Friday and Saturday! 10 amorettos during her pub night! She's a lush! That and eating all that fatty stuff after midnight will really pile on the pounds. These people eat and drink like college students, but they're not 19 anymore...

*Outdated info:*1. One meal wonder isnt a bad thing at all, it's called intermittent fasting. You just have to make good choices still. And it's kind of the opposite, more meals = more insulin spiking and more hunger fighting. So once you eat breakfast, you spike your blood sugar... it drops a little below from where you started ( amount depending on glycemic level of the food) making you hungry, and if you eat, you repeat the spike and drop in blood sugar, again and again all day until you fast while you sleep.... and eating more meals = more chances to over eat 2. Skipping meals (like breakfast) does NOT slow metabolism. And I know no one asked, carry on!

let's be real. Almost all these people have something in common. They all drink their calories. Most of them love alcohol. Alcohol not only has a shitton of calories but inhibits your body's ability to burn calories.
Rose K your body burns off the alcohols calories before anything else, so its cal content is hardly the issue. it’s the food that people eat with it that makes them gain weight.Not saying that alcohol isn’t an issue, but it being high calorie hardly matters when your body burns it off before everything else

movies are the Right place to introduce new healthy Snacks and light Dips, fruits and light cream with vanilly, ist not impossible to even break that Habits. Popcorn is not everything a Cinema shall serve. What About crushed iced vitaminjuices with only freshed blended fruits or just cool fruits or just eat before goibg to the movies, make sure you are not hungry and share Popcorn or Chips with someone or just take smaller portions

This programme is unrealistic. No where does it mention exercize or lifestyle change. These fatties will regain the weight if they don't get off their bums and burn calories by exercising, instead of eating in front of tele or excessively drinking at the pub.

This 'low fat' mantra is bullshit. The right kind of fats are not only good for you, but are essential. I have been eating a high fat low carb diet for a year now and the weight has dropped off. It's about training your body to look for it's energy in fat, rather than sugar. Sugar is a poison.

Eating all of your calories at one time, at night, will make you gain weight by itself since you're not going to be burning all those calories while you're sleeping.

5:27 Lolz, in paleolithic and neolithic times there was no calorie counting. There was food scarcity and food was not processed the same way. Simulate scarcity with fasting (Orthodox-Christian fasting has been around for awhile); and don't eat anything that has had the fiber removed.
well ... that would surely induce caloric balance. I doubt that most people would require that behaviour to successfully maintain a healthy weight.

Wow this show is really good. From the title I thought it was about binge eaters, but its actually very helpful in giving you tips to avoid overeating and snacking. Feel bad for the lady here with her brother, half way through she seemed to be truly disgusted with herself. They seem like really fun people though.

I just don't like the suggestion about weighing yourself daily. That's one way to become obsessed with food and your weight and a lot of those obsessions could lead to eating disorders.
My first week of healthy eating was undone by almonds and avocados, those things pack a huge punch. I thought eating 150g of almonds throughout the day was a good thing, turned out it was almost 1000 calories .
