The main reason I would get these is just to have drift-proof joysticks. I've gone through FIVE Joy-cons so far, 3 lefts and 2 rights.

Add moded joy con grips and it may be better than the real pro controllers 😆👍👍👍👍👍👍👍💪👍💪👍💪

All of you who hate the downsides of these, do yourself a favor and get one of these:

My hands used to straight up go numb after playing for like 30 minutes in handheld so i bought this grip and it saved my life.

Could you plug the hori pad split pro controller into the switch if you have a charging grip and of course unscrewing the grips that's on the chargering grips itself.

Its HORI-ginal and HORI-bble cuz at my place no stock already

  • Goggle Hero Omega Maple

also those stocks on the back help prevent the switch from causing the connecters to sag, possibly breaking them cause of the switch's heft

I have these and I love them but goddamn, I wish I could play splatoon2 with Gyro controls using these, it would make them totally perfect in my eyes. These are so great, I've just been playing portable at home with my tv off just to have an excuse to use them. If these had wireless and gyro, I would love these over my switch pro controller.

  • Τάσος Περόγλου

Just buy a Skull & Co. GripCase and you are good to go. It comes with a custom case. Pro Joy Cons are huge. I mean come on how im supposed to play on the go with that thing

No HD rumble, hell no rumble and no Amiibo. Those two things alone are enough for me to say no thanks. When it supports every feature that a regular joycon supports then I’ll consider it.

The lack of rumble kinda puts me off it. Also, what's the tactile feel like on the buttons and D-pad? My personal favorite D-pad is the Xbox One's, since it has a nice click to it, which is actually something I like with the joy-cons as well.

I cant find this anywhere? Its not in stock at all in Amazon, UK or stores near me, has this even released or is Hori struggling to make such a simple controller that barely has any features to restock them.

I love how these joy cons were made for Daemon x Machina but most, if not all of the footage in this video features Astral Chain

  • Lewis4
    Lewis4 18 days ago

This is (was) a great idea, but they made it way too flat still. The grips need to protrude much farther back, like a PS4 or Xbox controller. And yes, I bought one, so I know firsthand. And also, why is the screen not flush with the front of the controller?? It’s recessed over 1/4” behind the controller. They put the controller rails on the back edge rather than the front edge. It doesn’t affect much, but it’s really odd. Could’ve been great, but it’s just so-so.

As someone who has literally never docked their Switch, I dig these. Ultimately I think I'll wait and see if they do other versions - maybe with rumble and amiibo support, different layouts, or different colors - but these definitely have my attention.

  • John LaMore

These would have been perfect if the two joycons connected together to make a pro esque controller.

    • ThatNotSoAznKid
      ThatNotSoAznKid 21 day ago

GameXplain did their own video on these controllers, and it seems like they show up as grey joycons, but they don't make the click sound or the screen effect of sliding in.

  • Zoe Mendez

Thank you so much for the review! The question of if it's still dockable was the make or break for me, but now that I know that it does, I'm getting it immediately!
Only thing I wish is that there was a non Daemon X Machina edition. Like, I don't even know if I will like the game or not...

They really missed a huge win by not making them wireless.
Even if they were 20 dollars more expensive and had every feature except NFC, I'd buy them in a heartbeat.

what comes with the swtich is barely good enough for either portable or docked.. the controls suck and the graphics are weak i dont get how ppl shit their pants over Nintendo anymore when theres only 2 or 3 decent games on it i cant imagine how ppl would actually choose to play anything 3rd party on Nintendo unless its the only thing you own.. if nintendo is all you own your missing out on a lot of gaming if you dont own a switch youre only missing out on zelda and mario :S

  • D Vice

joycons are terrible i hate Nintendos gimmicks and i hate that all games are restricted to work with portability i just want solid 1080p 60fps on a stationary device
