Ladies and gentlemen, you may have to adjust the color of your is definitely a yellow strap! Haha...I didn't realize it would be so controversial. Pull up the Wiki shot of it and it's pretty obvious.
(You can also judge based on the brown underpieces that Link wears as a part of that outfit as well, plus the little laces in front at his neck...the hat to me was the most obvious, though)
Also, just to clarify: A lot of people are saying "It's obvious it's Fallen Hero because Link wakes up in a Reincarnation Chamber." Technically, you can't use that as evidence here because the "Hero is Defeated" division is specifically related to Link losing at the end of Ocarina of Time against Ganon, NOT the battles described in BOTW.
Lastly, a lot of people are mentioning the appearance of the "Mirror of Twilight" in the form of the "Fragmented Monument." And that's a really good point, however, if you look at the "Fragmented Monument" in BOTW, its design is pretty strongly different from the Mirror, in particular the writing in an ancient language around the rim of the circle.
Could the timelines have united and this is at the end of them? That's actually what I was hoping for as I researched! Sadly, I just didn't feel like there was enough evidence to support that. When I stopped to look at all the evidence together as well as how Eiji Aonuma was talking about this game leading up to its launch, it felt like the team INTENDED this to be a return to that first timeline while making nods to the other games.

I mean, I assumed that the CDi Zelda games were part of the fallen hero timeline, taking place immediately after dying because it takes place in Hyrule’s version of Hell.

can we talk about how urbosa even mentions that Gannon once took the form of gerudo. Or how Kass plays eponas song at stables, or the deku tree, or the skyloft reference, or any other real reference to the OOT timeline. No? Okay.

To save anyone new to this video the search in the comments. It has been confirmed by Nintendo (with the making a champion book if I recall correctly) that BOTW takes place in all three timeliness! Whether or not it's a convergence is up to Nintendo but it's mostly likely is. Some people have started calling BOTW Zelda's version of a "dragonbreak". A phrase from the elder scrolls skyrim if I remember right.

I just watched this video which was in my recommended for some reason and it made me realise something.
I'm pretty sure I've watched one of your videos before about BotW and it was something about how BotW could take place as a merging of sorts of all the three timelines but I can't for the life of me find that video.
It was either yours or someone elses video but I can't be sure on well either so if someone could link the video I'm trying to find or tell me where to find it that would be appreciated a lot.

Interesting theory. My personal opinion is that it takes place in all three timelines. Perhaps Zelda using the triforce of wisdom is able to see through all timelines, yes. However, is it not possible that all three timelines converge back into one? It would explain the connection to the three timelines and clear all confusion. Just a theory though.

  • Xhenon Grindz
    Xhenon Grindz 2 days ago

Kinda mad you didn't talk about how in A Link between worlds it wasn't really ganon you were fighting. It was a demon god/goddess that wanted to revive ganon and take over his body but failed due to Ganon overcoming because of the triforce of power. So really when you think about it did ganon really go into full form for that fight?

So it's been a long time since this video came out, but I just realized something. In smash bros, there is 3 links. One from adult timeline (toon link), one from child timeline (young link) l, and, if we are going by this video, one from the failed hero timeline (botw link [yes I know you can select different outfits for link from different timelines but botw is the main one.]) Nintendo is going good

I honestly feel like it takes place in all 3 timelines. I read an article where the creator was saying it’s up to your interpretation. I think at this point which is 10s of thousands of years after any of the previous Zelda games all 3 timelines came back to an exact fixed point

It's actually the canon that the Zora evolved into Rito because of the dangerous sea monsters that would prey on Zora, which is what led to the dismatlement of the Zora's domain. Besides in a world where magic pig demons and physic defying tools exist, it's not that crazy for fish people to become birds.
