16 is not juvenile, it is young adult. 12-15 is juvenile. 16-17 young adult 18 adult. She choose to date that man. She choose to trade sex for money. She was never chained in a room like real sex trafficked victims. Or her passport confiscated & threatened with deportation like real trafficked women. Or her family hold at gun point by cartels. She had opportunity to go to the police several times. Yet she CHOOSE to kill & get caught.

So juveniles should kill & pillage society. We all was young at once & poor. But 99% of us didn’t kill or rob someone.

  • Rami Sebit
    Rami Sebit 9 days ago

She is a murderer, so what are we teaching our future Generation. Kill someone by shooting them on the back of the head then rob them & u become celebrity.

    • lexi219
      lexi219 2 days ago

@Rami Sebit 16 still isn't legally an adult in any way. You are still a minor in the eyes of the law - you can't vote, open a bank account, decide to drop out of school, get married without parental consent, work any full time job without restrictions, open a credit card...the list goes on. The government treats you like a child at that age. It's bullshit to try 16 year olds as adults when the law doesn't consider them to be adults.

    • nimbu
      nimbu 2 days ago

No we’re teaching our future generation that if you want to pimp, exploit and traffic vulnerable young women, you will probably get away with it. Now that she’s out, who’s the one to become an educated and productive member of society? Sure as hell ain’t these “men” that still vilify her

Rami Sebit If she hadn’t been given a life sentence as a kid, then she would have never become a celebrity. We’re teaching our future generation that there are ramifications for your actions, but they should be fair. She was not an adult in any way and should not have been given an adult sentence.

Her story was visible on Facebook and I think that visibility helped her case. It showed that race played a factor in her sentence. Whites children who did worse had lighter sentences. While she was abused when she killed a man.

The level of denial and avoidance of the reality that this woman was
jailed NOT because it was fashionable to do so, but precisely because of
her demonstrated and universally identified lack of emotional,
intellectual and physical reaction to humanity around her, is something
worthy of contemplation. There's a stunning lack of fear for what a
sociopath is capable of, and an even more stunning rush to cling to a
'team', a 'side', a 'tribal affiliation'. Sociopaths don't become
non-sociopaths - with a diagnosis, firm therapy and medication, they
become individually functional and learn (albeit unemotionally) to DAILY
attempt not to prey on the rest of humanity. Look into this woman's
eyes, facial expressions and body language at this very moment in time -
there has been no alteration of the 16 year old whose pulse never even
hit 70 when being questioned by police, reporters, psychologists,
lawyers and judges. You are looking at the same entity - only now she's
got the sociopath's dream: a legion of people who enjoy the feeling of
those strings she's attached to their bodies. She knows tribalism
works in contemporary America - and like a good sociopath, she's not
capable of blowing any opportunity for employing strategies for making
use of this tribalism. I guess America really is that slow-witted and
lethargic in the mind as is reported by other nations.

I don’t believe she should have been sentenced as an adult, and I believe she was abused. But she killed a man in point blank murder, and minor or not, abuse or not, that part of the story is hella fucked up.

The legal system and human services are just not capable of bringing justice to these victims as they are now. Lots of education is needed, among other things.
