Being from the area where sweet tea was supposedly invented (near Summerville, SC), I not only find the bottled "teas" to be a joke, but also an embarrassment and a very sad attempt. Whether you're a Luzianne™ (the only sweet tea brand, imo) or Lipton fan (which is tolerable, kinda), real honest-to-goodness sweet tea isn't made with corn sweeteners, caramel coloring, powders, mixes, or chemicals. It's water, tea leaves, and sugar. That's it.
I can also say (as someone who only drinks sweet tea), there are different types when going out to a restaurant. There's Yankee tea (unsweet and unfit for drinking - pour directly down the sink, please), foot tea (when the tea is just starting to sour after being in an urn for too long... or the urn hasn't been properly cleaned - blyeck!), @$$ tea (no explanation necessary, I'm thinking), ghetto sweet tea (so sweet that you can't drink it... maybe it should be bottled and used as syrup for pancakes?), and regular ol' sweet tea (the good stuff).
But to my Irish friends, you were sold a falsehood. A hoax. A misrepresentation. (Sadly, too many Americans don't know the difference either.) Sorry this happened. Please visit SC so we can show you what real Southern food and beverages are supposed to taste like. If you gain a hundred pounds in the process, it's not our fault.

I’m from the Southern part of the US and sweet iced tea is my favorite drink. And you have to make it right down here or people riot lol. Anyway, with that being said, I despise fruit flavored teas. Especially bottled tea. All of those are terrible. I’d rather make my own. It’s the only way to do it right in the South. :3

Just an idea, but have you considered doing a Southern New England taste test? Just some ideas are: Clam cakes, New England clam chowder, Del's Lemonade, Autocrat coffee syrup, funnel cakes, steamed burgers, Cape Cod potato chips (original) B&M Boston baked beans (original) and Bakery (pan) pizza strips. PIzza strips is more of an Rhode Island thing as well as Del's lemonade. The strips have a thick crust, simple sauce and typically doesn't have any cheese, but sometimes has Parmesan cheese.
Sorry, went crazy with ideas. I'm not a drinker, but Samuel Adam's is a beer from Boston, not sure about any local craft beer or alcohol.
Hope to see more episodes soon

Brew up about half a gallon or so of STRONG, concentrated tea, hot as hell. While you're getting that squared away, take a gallon size pitcher and fill it about 3/4 of the way up with loosely packed ice cubes and pour about six cups of sugar in there.
When the tea is done, pour it in with the ice and sugar and stir until the ice is gone. If pitcher isn't full enough, add more sugar and water until it is.

Definitely need to try Gold Peak Extra Sweet.... And I know what you may be thinking, yes, I live in the South (US) where if your tea doesn't have 3 different colors in the glass, you are making it wrong. The colors are the lighter tea shade on top from all the ice, the actual tea, and the bottom layer is the sugar that physically could not dissolve no matter how hard you try, it just has THAT much sugar!

A lot of the prepackaged cheap stuff has all kinds of corn syrup and artificial flavorings up in it. If not the latter or both then at the very least, the former. I find them very non-quenching and stick to the throat (Brisk, Lipton, Arizona 😤). Be that as it may, nothing beats a nice iced tea, sweet or unsweet. If it can't be made from scratch and it must be a bottle, I do prefer the Pure Leaf, Gold Peak, and Tazo brands. Chilled and/or poured over some ice, not plain for cripes' sake :P

I must've been under a rock but I recently discovered "Honest Tea". This is not an advert for them but seriously, very good. They put only about 60 calories worth of sugar in it, just enough to add a little bit of sweet, but not too much. Great podcast on the guy who started the company at Guy Roz' "How I Build This", that's how I learned about it. A little pricey but it really nice after a run or good workout. Very refreshing, and I'm not really a tea person (even though I'm in The South, NC). They carry them at Wholefoods and I'd read SAMs and WalMart are actually going to start carrying them as well. edit: I'm sure Trader Joes has them as well but I've not checked.

In Georgia we drink fresh brewed sweet Iced tea. 4 tea bags (Lipton) boiled in a pot, about 2 to 3 inches of sugar in a tea pitcher to have the hot tea poured over and fill the rest of the pitcher with water. Pour a large ice filled glass of tea and proceed to the porch to be eaten alive by mosquitos in 103F, 98% humidity and relax.

They use weird fucking shit all the time that is just not representative at all of the average product. Like using some weird 1-off limited-edition of Arizona tea instead of the normal one.
But you hit the it right on the head with the Snapple peach tea as that one is VERY popular.
I still don't forgive them for that first jerky episode or for that sad fucking thanksgiving meal they gave these people.
Now that i'm done venting, I do still love the show and I love when you guys get it just right with the products.
