When, if EVER, do you think that armed resistance to government tyranny is appropriate?

I think when our two party system came together to pass an $800 BILLION "Bailout" , they pretty much figured out they can do whatever they want to, so they then went from $500 BILLION annual deficit spending to $1 TRILLION annual deficit spending. So basically it really doesn't matter anymore because America is already lost.. Have a nice day.

@jhanks2012 Says the COMPLETE brainwashed yahoo! Unlike you ignorant twits we believe in the freedoms and PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY maybe if you people understood what that is you would understand what it means to have freedoms. But you don't like it because you are the same type of people that would not benefit from said revolution.

What are you going to do? Actually shoot a cop because you disagree with the laws? You're all a bunch of fetishists and if the government was actually coming to you in battle you would be dead in an instant without ever seeing them. I would like real actually solvable problems to be discussed please. This issue has less standing than a Star Trek convention.

28:47 nope, that's not what it was about. I'd like to clarify a detail about the Civil War which is commonly misunderstood due to an intentional oversight by certain politicians and historians of a particular disposition. Whereas secession was about slavery, the war itself wasn't. Secession and the Civil War are two separate issues as it was three whole months between the time the last of the first batch of southern states, Louisiana, seceded on January 26th, 1861 and when confederate artillery fired upon Fort Sumter on April 12th the same year - which started the war.

The Confederate government viewed this sustained military presence by a "foreign" government (they now saw the U.S as being a separate country) in South Carolina as an act of military aggression by the United States and thus a direct attack on what they believed was a constitutional entitlement to leave the union. In short, the state's belief in their right to secede propelled the first shot at Fort Sumter. Hence, the Civil War was about a states' rights to independence.

Now, some might argue that if they wanted independence over slavery, and they started the war over independence, than they started the war over slavery. This is incorrect. You didn't have to be a proponent of slavery to recognize a state had a legitimate claim to secede over it or any other reason. The colonists started the war against Great Britain once King George started shooting their taxes through the roof, does that mean the American Revolution was about a desire for low taxation? No, It was about their desire for independence stemmed from the fact that they no longer consented to King George's rule.

When Abraham Lincoln refused to let the southern states go, he struck a blow to the face of everything the founders laid out with regard to self government. The government derives it's power from the consent of the people, and the people down south didn't consent to Abraham Lincoln's rule so they saw fit to break away from said government. The "grand experiment" of self government failed that day the confederates surrendered at Appomattox on April 9th, 1865.

I see little distinction between saying you can't have any gun or you can't have a specific gun; little difference between forcing your child into a government school and forcing you to fund a government school via taxation; all of these actions violate natural rights and violent resistance is moral.

*facepalm* It isn't Bleach as in wash your clothes bleach, it is Clorine Dioxide, which has more applications than just an industrial bleaching agent. It is also used as a way to help purify water so it can be drinkable, often used by outdoorsmen. In a little more strong dose, it is claimed to help remove toxins from the body. That detoxifying effect is what is claimed to help cure or alleviate the effects of autism, although no serious medical trials have been done as of yet.

I believe that an eye for an eye and turning the other cheek apply to interactions with other individuals. When interacting with a government, no such leeway should be granted, because government is incapable of empathy, remorse, forgiveness, apology, etc., etc.

  • Bob Smoot

I heard a comedian make the point that he believed in turning the other cheek, but he only had two cheeks; so after he’s run out of cheeks to turn, you’re in deep doo-doo.

I disagree about waiting until they’re sending cops door to door. The American public should’ve risen up en masse when the NFA was proposed (much less passed!) and dragged the politicians who proposed it out of office by their ears and charged them with treason against the several states, and against the United States. It should have happened again in 1968, 1986, 1989, 1994, and probably a couple others times that I’ve missed. If we wait until they have the veneer of law on their side, we give them the luxury of painting us as outlaws.

  • Bob Smoot
    Bob Smoot Month ago

Meeting someone unknown or hostile at your door with a gun is just good policy. They don’t necessarily have to know that you have a gun. It’s there to enforce your will in your household, instead of the intruder’s will.

  • Bob Smoot
    Bob Smoot Month ago

Beto has no idea what he’s advocating. He’s advocating sending police on no-knock raids (which is how they always serve a warrant that’s perceived as dangerous), which will end up with either police officers being killed, or good, patriotic citizens being killed in their own homes, or both. The American people WILL. NOT. GIVE. UP. OUR. ARMS! Stop trying to make us!
