    Really nice video but i can give some suggestions if you are interested. you said: chocolate and green tea are anti inflamatory. generically this is correct but since you are so precises with skin care, i can also be because it can deepen the understanding. green tea and chocolate are anti-inflamatory because they feed the bacterias that produce this antifinflamatory substance. These are the butyrade producing bacterias. That means foods can be targeted to feed bacterias. it means we dont need superfoods but foods that feed these. generally there are two things now in microbiology: health comes with a variety of bacterias and with a bigger quantity of good bacterias. you can not repopulate your gut bacterias but you can feed them to regrow them. So to feed certain types of bacterias you could eat polephynol foods which are generally red. it doesnt matter if they are superfoods or not. for example dragon fruit is not a superfood but it feeds very well these bacterias. Or, you were eating alonds but the bacterias love the almond cover... Its a very interesting topic. One way to increase is through eating a high variety of plants a week and by taling PRE biotics. One very nice prebiotic which is a bit of a secret is Partially Hydrolized Guar Gum. One scoop a day is all you need. You can put it in your cereal and has a nice taste.... The reason i am writing this because you mentioned high collesterol but there are studies that show there is a correlation between collesterol and bacterias. I think using the microbiology gives a much better control of what is good for us (we can measure range and quantity of bacterias before and after) but also keeps us safe from marketing....

      Hi Rachel~ The Skinceuticals Phloretin CF is a Vitamin C & Ferulic Acid serum, so it's very similar to the one I use which is Timeless 20% Vitamin CE Ferulic Acid serum (Timeless is about $140 less)! Also, the Phloretin product contains a ton of sd alcohol which is not good for (aging) skin. xo ~angie

    Let's see, how to ask this. Some people are just blessed with good genes (you look like you were at the front of the line when God was passing them out!) Here's my question: Is everyone in your family endowed with good skin, few wrinkles, trim body and an overall pleasing (I'm trying not to sound jealous) appearance, or can you honestly say that your regimen of a.m./p.m. facial workout, healthy eating, and exercise is mostly responsible for you looking like your only early 30's? I always looked younger than my age until maybe 58, then...screech, it all caught up. I'm 67 now and I guess my boat has sailed :-{

    Thanks for your words. This really help motivate me to look into a new lifestyle. I’m 25 right now, just like when you first started, I felt like I need to change something about myself. And you’re right, be more critical about yourself, because what’s happening on your body and skin is the reality. Thanks so much. I’ll have your words in mind next time I’m having second thoughts. Ps. Been going through your videos like watching an addictive soap opera. It’s amazing- you’re amazing.

    I love your approach to health and fitness. These are my favorite kinds of videos. I focus on balance-meaning not being too restrictive while keeping health in mind. I had eliminated dairy for years believing that I could get all the bone benefits w/o it as long as I was eating enough of the plant sources. I was diagnosed with osteopenia and really had to re-educate myself and realized the absorption is not the same and some have different needs. My husband struggles with hereditary cholesterol concerns so this video was helpful for new ideas for the two of us. Sardines are VERY low in mercury and filled with omegas and calcium if you can eat them.

    Great video! I read an article about the benefits of exercise where a doctor said something like "If exercise came in a pill, all doctors would prescribe it, patients would demand it, and governments would subsidize it." Hubbie has inherited (familial) cholesterol and takes one plant sterol with each meal per day which has helped. Also, we both eat porridge oats (which lowers cholesterol) made with the water we've soaked the linseeds in (for omega 3) with added flaked almonds, chia seeds, sultanas, fresh berries and zero fat natural soya yoghurt. We have a mid morning smoothie/green juice using our vitamix. I'm always making healthy soups too usually with lentils thrown in. I also try to prepare both a vegetable salad and a fruit salad nearly every day stored in airtight containers in the fridge, so we can dip in and out of it if/when we're peckish. Helps prevent cravings for naughty sugary products (which I try not to buy!). We also aim to walk at least 10,000 steps every day using our phone app to keep track - it also reminds you to get up and move about if you've been sitting for too long!

    Angie, thanks for this info. I just hit the big " 6 DECADES " on Saturday. lol. Last month I joined the gym near my house and still have yet to go. 😫 I'm going to take a look at your play list right now. Yep, that little voice has been " screaming " at me for some time now. I think I get discouraged because I can't do what I used to be able to do ( as far as working out is concerned because of arthritis).Time to stop whining about it. Thank you! This is what I needed this morning. 👍🏼 Take care!

      Happy Birthday Linda!! I'm so happy you took the first step and joined the gym and I hope you go soon so you can quiet that little voice and replace it with a big proud voice! It is harder as we age to do the same things because we do have more aches and pains and things like arthritis (I had tennis elbow all last year and couldn't lift weight with my right arm). But it's still important to work out even in a modified way so the rest of the body stays healthy. xo ~angie

    Great approach to being happy and healthy. Positive Mental Attitude goes a long way to silencing the "I can't do this" voice that lives in all of us. I've always been active and sporty, but I was overweight; that changed 21 years ago, when I moved to CA, started living healthy and I dropped 50 lbs. I've managed to keep it off by being creative with my nutrition and work outs. It has not been easy, I was always overweight and come from a family of the same, so not only fighting my inner voice but family food culture also.
    Having chronic health issues (I'm hospitalized 8-12 times yearly for surgery) isn't easy, but I do exercises (leg lifts, stretches, bed yoga) in my hospital bed - I make my nurses laugh but I tell them there's no excuse to not try and do something. :)
    It takes work and consistency but it can be done! I'm living proof of it. Keep up the excellent work!

LOL the vegan comments below - I am a pescatarian and cutting out all other meats has made a difference in how I feel and especially my cholesterol levels (and mentally). Sadly, I have been reading that tofu might not be the best meat replacement, however, due to the phytoestrogens : ( Do you have any thoughts on this?

    Angie, I love the Firm too! I used to live in Columbia, SC and did the workouts every day at their studio, but then my husband and I moved away. I am not sure if you know (but you might), that the Firm isn’t ever going to make new videos through Gaiam, and that they ended up changing their name to the Flex. Long story short, Emily Welsh has a closed Facebook Group that she uploads their live workouts to every day. You can then play them whenever and do them at home with all of the standard equipment. Let me know if you want to be a part of the group, and I’ll put you in touch with Emily.

    Proper fats are our friends❤️ Grass fed butter is excellent for you. All the old knowledge of a low-fat or no-fat diet is completely outdated. Raising the amount of healthy fats in ones diet via coconut oil, olive oil, avocados, nut butters (not peanut) grass fed butter & wild-caught (only) salmon, sardines & mackerel are vital to good health. People really struggle to accept this after the past fat-free craze but they’re literally vital to age-related brain health/dementia & Alzheimer’s along with skin, joint etc.
