The old guy was legit getting on my nerves. He was being so rude and not letting anyone talk. I’m a Muslim, but I still let people believe what they want to believe. The old dude was just telling people they’re wrong for they’re belief. “It’s not a belief, it’s a fact” Smh 🤦‍♀️

The old man seems to have very similar views to my dad.
Not in the topic of religion but in the fact that he cannot separate his opinions from facts.
Facts need evidence and proof, opinions are your personal views. Just because you believe something to be true, it does not make it a fact

God never said youd go to hell if you have a divorce. I think a lot of people who hate the Christian faith is because they had someone in their life that twisted the word of God.

    • Aaron Covert
      Aaron Covert 8 hours ago

+TombWraith could you share where you got that in the Bible?

    • TombWraith
      TombWraith 8 hours ago

+Aaron Covert If the Bible is to be taken literally, its a monstrosity. Actually, no it isn't. A woman is supposed to take her punishment. Only if the man's abuse escalates to where her life is at risk can she leave. And if she does, she cannot remarry, as that is committing adultery.

    • Aaron Covert
      Aaron Covert 8 hours ago

+TombWraith That's actually not true. I know people like to say you can Interpret many different things. But for the most part of The Bible the majority of it Is straightforward. And actually on the whole divorce thing in The Bible, If the man is being abusive it is OK to walk away. If the man is being abusive it is OK to walk away And if you get a divorce God's not going to send you to h** It never said that.

    • TombWraith
      TombWraith 9 hours ago

Depends on the divorce. The problem with your God is his rules are arbitrary and vague and you can interpret a variety of things from them

At 8:00 she asks if he thinks forcing his opinion is gonna get him anywhere and he interrupts with "im giving facts", then at the end proceeds to hand out pamphlets. This is the point she was trying to make. I cant tell if he was intentionally being provocative with the pamphlets or not but if you refuse to listen to others and sympathize and just hit them with "facts", you cannot expect them to take your pamphlet.

0:07 I'm going to respond that same way I would respond to baptists. Her father is a real Christian, but a Christian with a fucked up view of what the bible really means. He believes in a human's false interpretation of a holy word. And because of that experience, God became a hard taskmaster. And when she says I don't want to believe she emotionally does not want to believe. You cant hate the nonexistent

You can’t base morality off of your personal opinion. That would be a mess. You can’t base morality off of what’s best for most of society. Slavery.
You can’t base morality off of anything except God. Many have tried and always failed. You can figure out via logic that morality can only exist with an all powerful, all knowing being that created the world and the rules

    • Maksie0
      Maksie0 2 days ago

Basing your morality off of a god is just going with said god's personal opinion. What morality is really based on for the vast majority of human beings is the promotion of well-being and the reduction of death and suffering. It's really that simple.

Americans seem to be so so so backwards when it comes to religion. From the point of view of Europeans, it's almost like they are in the Middle Ages when it comes to this.
I've lost count on how many times I've heard an American say "it happened because it says so in the Bible", and similar stuff. I can't wrap my head around it. That book was written by *people* about 2000 years ago. Nothing more, nothing less.

I feel that most Christians when debating with an atheist always bring up "How can something come from nothing?" Hannity on Fox brought it up when talking to an atheist about a billboard. But then you ask them how god was created. And they say. "He was not created he has always been here." So why can't it be possible that the atoms and molecules and quarks that were used to form our galaxy over millions of years couldn't have been here since the beginning of space and time? Even though there wasn't really a beginning of space and time which is pretty trippy, to be honest.

To believe that there is a God, you have to believe that this earth did not create itself. People say that the earth was created by an explosion of rock, gases, and ash. But those are non living things. Living things cannot be created by non living things. For example, you can’t stick a piece of dynamite in the ground, let it explode, and expect a tree to grow there from the explosion. And scientists have proven the earth to be Job 26:7 says, “He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangers the earth upon nothing.” And Isaiah 40:22 says, “It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreathed them out as a tent to dwell in. Genisis 1:1,” God created the heavens and the earth.”

Lazzaro Spallanzani. Spallanzani did extensive research on the reproduction of animals, and definitively disproved the theory of spontaneous generation (1768). In 1779 he discovered the workings of animal reproduction, which requires semen (carrying spermatazoa) and an ovum.//// Spontaneous generation- Alternate Synonyms for "spontaneous generation": abiogenesis; autogenesis; autogeny; organic phenomenon.

    • Casper
      Casper 3 days ago

I researched abiogenesis, and this is what I found.: abiogenesis with the archaic theory of spontaneous generation, the two ideas are quite different. According to the latter, complex life (e.g., a maggot or mouse) was thought to arise spontaneously and continually from nonliving matter. While the hypothetical process of spontaneous generation was disproved as early as the 17th century and decisively rejected in the 19th century, abiogenesis has been neither proved nor disproved.: Abiogenesis has no proof to support this theory.

    • Maksie0
      Maksie0 9 days ago

Just because you haven't witnessed abiogenesis, doesn't mean you can conclude that it's impossible.

    • Casper
      Casper 9 days ago
