6 Muscle Gaining Mistakes (SLOW OR NO GROWTH!!)

    When it comes to gaining muscle, it’s not just about the workouts and exercises that you do but how you do them. In this video, I cover this and many other muscle gaining mistakes that could be holding you back from building the mass you should be from your workouts. You don’t even have to be a beginner to benefit from this video, as many advanced lifters can still be making many of these mistakes.
    The first big workout or muscle gaining mistake is to overtrain. Now despite what you may have been told, overtraining is a very real thing that befalls many lifters during their attempts to build muscle mass fast. They fall for the concept of more is better not realizing that if they are going to attempt to lift without the assistance of ped’s then their capacity to recover will be limited. With a healthy respect for one’s ability to recover from hard workouts, you can carefully walk the line between overtraining and not overtraining and use that to build as much muscle as you can naturally.
    That said, the next mistake is even more rampant than the first and that is under training. Simply attending a gym does not grant you the right to build muscle. You actually have to put in the work when you are there if you want to see appreciable muscle gains. Many people will hit the gym and never bring enough intensity to their training to see their muscles grow and grow quickly.
    In fact, once you master the balance between over and under training you will see that it is actually not that difficult to tip in your favor. By trading in workout length for intensity you will be able to build muscle mass while working out less. Your increased exercise and workout intensity will lead to faster muscle growth and more time to allow your body to recover and grow back strong.
    Speaking of strong, no solid physique is built without becoming strong on your foundation exercises like the bench press, deadlift and squat. That said, many people who struggle to gain muscle are often the same people who skip out on doing these exercises. There is a valid reason for it. These exercises can be intimidating to those who lack the strength and technique to perform them. Opting for easier versions however like concentration curls and pushups is not the answer long term. Start performing these exercises and build your confidence with them and you will see your muscles build and grow as well.
    Nutritionally, eating either too few calories or not enough nutrient dense calories will derail your pursuit of more muscle. Nutrition is and always will be a very important part of the equation. If you want to gain muscle you need to have your diet plan and meal plans in place to support your new muscle growth. Stop thinking that just because you are getting in enough calories that you have the goods to grow muscle. You may not. If you don’t have enough quality, nutrient dense calories coming in you will find it almost impossible to gain muscle fast or at all.

    The guy that overtrains expects to make gains but doesn't, so the lack of gains might be bewildering, but the guy that undertrains doesn't GIVE A DAMN, so NOT making gains would come as no surprise. The guy that undertrains and expects to make gains needs to go to a psychiatrist and not the gym.

    When he said the counting dont matter i was laughing he's definitely right I see people doing that and I'm over trying to lift more intensely I went 20lb to 35lb in 2 weeks with the dumbells and my bench up 20 not because of the counts but because of the intensity✊🏻

    PREACH. MY. BROTHA. I too am a hard too gain weight. But slowly I have gained weight by eating more of the right foods. I've went from 160 lbs to 178 lbs in 9 months of training. So Right On Jeff to your videos. Smart training. Proper form. Eating healthy. The gains will show.

    Now i started gym and huge change in my daily meals and nutrition consistant training and for 6 weeks i am now 105 kg looking much different than ever.

    I'm twelve at the moment and I had a kinda slow metabolism during the summer before my last. During that time I did eat a lot and sit on the computer and just play minecraft or something. I had anger issues as well and felt like an alchoholic. but for chips and minecraft. I noticed I was starting to get bigger than I usually used to be, so I started exercising, and that sped up my metabolism greatly. Now I have a fast metabolism and work out sometimes. I got really into it during my 6th grade year, I'm in 7th at the moment. I started breaking off since then but now I want to start back up again. I'm going to try to work on this schedule I started and I want to be able to gain more muscle. If I keep working out and building and improving what I do every day, by the time more of my testostorone sets in I'll be set to keep building until I reach my goal.

    Jeff says don’t overtrain your self 1 hour is enough but how come I hear people doing 3 workouts a day is that because they are doing shorter workouts or because they might be working different muscles, I’m a little confused

    So my thing is I’ve been working out for about 10 years now (I’m 22) and train for Olympic lifting (which I’ve been doing for about 8 years). I have stayed at pretty much the same physique my entire life ( I’m not talking about growth spurts/puberty, unless that would be included) and the new maxes I would get were from form fixes. I’ve been trying to get bigger and stronger. I’ve been told by many coaches, friends, people at gyms and facilities I’ve been, and articles it’s just what I eat and I need to eat more. I’m at about 160lbs for 5’9. I went from 1900 cal/day to almost 7000 cal/day (don’t quote me on it) and through out all those there haven’t been any progress. It was just constantly getting sick from the intake. Obviously there is other information missing this comment but what do you think it is?

    My man Jeff looks great, especially for his age. But after seeing an earlier video of him about five years ago, and always thinking he might have been a vampire, I can report, he is human and aging... although very, very slowly... So (for now at least) it appears he's not a vampire... or at least not a full-blown blood-drinking one.

      Ok... I was 6' tall 251 lbs in January.
      I'm 220 now.
      I'm trying to get to 190 by January again but I might have so much muscle on me that it would take me getting down to 8% body fat in order to keep at 190
      I gain muscle easily.
      I gain fat easily.
      8% body fat is probably not sustainable.
