The Scary Truth About Zion Williamson | UNTOLD
He’s got a tremendous body, size, athleticism and an advanced skill set. A special player at the highest caliber. One of the nation’s best basketball players. Meet Zion Williamson, a 6-foot-7, 285-pound forward and one of the biggest showcases of basketball talent in the country. As a rising star at Duke University, Zion is on the verge of making his dreams come true. A lucrative career in the NBA appears to be within his grasp.
NBA Player Kevin Durant described him as a "once-in-a-generation type athlete" while veteran Paul Pierce claimed he is already more physical than 98 percent of NBA players. Even NBA superstar Lebron James appears to have his eyes on Williamson, as he was once seen attending one of his games and was even quoted as saying that the future NBA prospect was “very impressive”. In fact, people have been buzzing about him over the past two years thanks to his seemingly superhuman athleticism and size combination. But just who is Zion Williamson? Let’s find out.

Sad truth is that he's already having issues with his weight as well as his knees(which is why he hasn't played a single nba game yet.) He's had a surgery that will get him on the court as soon as possible, however the way they're going about it will probably hurt Zion in the long run(trimmingvs.cutting)one method~trimming helps the player get back on the court as soon as possible, cutting is the preferred method however it takes around 6-12 months to heal & rehab. Now we see why the Pelicans are choosing trimming vs. cutting because they stand to lose money everyday Zion isn't on the court!!!

That broken wrist is God’s doing, that’s why you always gotta keep your trust in him, it must’ve been a nightmare at first, but it was just apart of gods plan, through that broke wrist he ended up getting the height and size he needed the height and size that got him to where he is now

    Great video.
But the vertical leap measurement quoted is not quite accurate.
A 40” vertical can be measured without having to adjust the settings - Zion maxed out at 45” vertical, which mathematically corresponds with pictures of his head just above the rim I have seen.

As long as Zion doesn’t develop a weight problem like Barkley/Shaq etc., he should have an exceptional career. That’s the Achilles heel of many bigger more muscular NBA players.

Honestly kids like this need a very moderately paced, careful, and protected training regimen as they progress in age, skill, and ability because the wear and tear on their knees, back, tendons, and more is much higher than fellow athletes due to the nature of their quick growth spurts.
Also consider the fact several studies have shown players today are much more fragile and injury prone than just 25 years ago. I was watching a documentary and the numbers were crazy, apparently a large contributor to this problem is kids today eat more and more sugar and less calcium leading to weaker bones. This is compounded by modern training techniques in basketball particularly use far less traditional weight and strength training then they did as recently as Jordan's day.

Amazing dynamic talent... yet can you imagine him at a weight of 250, 255? As a pro, he shouldn’t be 285+. He’d be even quicker, and he could jump another 6” higher.
