    I'm no certified professional but, this s**t is insane and completely unfounded. It was thought that you burn the hair to get rid of split ends. That's it. THEN, over a VERY long period of time, you treat it with products meant to repair the hair. Burning is not to heal or seal keratin, that's a bunch of pseudoscience bull. If you get to the point where the only thing you believe you can do is burn the split ends off then you must be at the end of your rope. And trust me, honey, it ain't that easy!
    I've had to do this for family members who had absolutely no hope for their hair. I had to explain to them that burning the split ends will not SAVE your hair. It's a very long and difficult, last-ditch-effort-journey on the road to hair recovery. It's not my fault if they lose all their hair because they don't want to put in the work it takes to actually fix it.
    Don't light your God-blessed hair on fire, damn it.
    I treat hair with Africa's Best products, all-natural keratin, specific oils and essential vitamins. You can not fix your hair without the essentials that your hair needs. Nothing with hair is as simple as a one-step-and-done hack and slash. It takes time and patience.
    These people are just really trying to sell this "new and imaginative" thing that they don't even really understand. I swear to gawd, kids better not start lighting their hair on fire cause of this crap.
    PS: Love you Brad!

    I taught Fire Education for the County Fire Marshal's Office years ago. You should be scared. Kids do stupid things. Most of the time they grow up and realize what they are doing is stupid or illegal and stop doing it. Sometimes they don't grow up and continue doing childish, stupid things. These are idiots doing stupid things and pretending they are "trendy". If you have ever met a young person who has accidentally set themselves on fire playing with matches/lighters and a spray can and burned their hair and face, you would not try this "hair cutting" technique. The permanent scars that are left and the inability to grow hair again would convince you that this is not even remotely an option for styling your hair.
    DO NOT DO THIS EVER! EVER.

    What did Ms. Mannequin do to hurt you Brad?
    Your partially right about the keratin and sealing, however we do use fire to treat wounds and incisions. Cauterizing is used heavily in surgeries as a means to sterilization for closing and small cut usually to prevent excess superficial bleeding, like removing polyps or to close small incisions made to gain access only. This method also cuts down on the amount of material normally used in closing wounds i.e. sutures or Staples in the case of internal procedure in the place of dissolvable sutures. Cauterizing I. Did medicine has historically been a means for closing wounds quickly and cleanly avoiding exsanguination or or infection and is still used today. HOWEVER it is not in any was used as a means to smooth or seal the skin for asthetic reasons. Low setting on a curling iron is around 200*, a lit cigarette is around 700*, a curling iron to long on the hair can burn and destroy it, heating up the hair much higher is not going to be so hot as to seal the outside before damage occurs. What it may do if chemicals or various materials are used to control the burn (non flammable or fire resistant compounds) like the cream he mentioned can be used to ideally to guide the fire in a particular direction and trying to secure a "high water mark"(absolute stopping point) from there the right tempature COULD be used to essentially melt the outer layer of hair to "seal it" but your not going to get that effect evenly, it's going to be scattered and extremely difficult plus time consuming to even try. Further that "sealed" hair is going to be very much like melted sand or other crystalized organic mater which hardens to a smooth but ultimately fragile form. A short period of wear and tear, just regular every day Life (in other words) is going to break that she'll exposing the damaged hair and ultimate creating far more split s and damage over all.
    The more you know.

    Cauterization is when you burn the skin of the person is bleeding out very quickly and there are no other options it makes the blood clot but it has a high infection rate so when he was talking about the skin thing just adding that;-;

    Actually, to the whole “you can’t heal wounds with fire” thing, it doesn’t “heal” as they said it seals. I’ve seen in extreme survival situations if someone has an open wound in the wilderness, sometimes it gets to a point of having to burn it shut, sealing and stoping any further blood loss. Although, I still don’t think it should be an immediate hair choice 😂

    I need to point out that the guy who actually burned her hair off is the same guy in the other video. He confirmed that the reason he burned her hair was to CREATE split ends so that he could use his burning technique to help "mend" them to show how the wet hair burning technique "works".
    I also think the actual burning technique is a bunch of bull. All he is really doing is making it a show and then the real work is all done by the conditioning and when they use the scissors after they do the burning part. lol

    Before people had real surgery to remove limbs they would cut off the limp then cauterize the wound (seal/heal it) with a butcher knife that had been sitting on fire. I know you didn’t mean to come after them but thought it was good to know when figuring how this works

    • Pumpkin Queen
      Pumpkin Queen 16 days ago

      Cauterizing doesn’t seal it just helps coagulate and clot so you don’t bleed out. Also doesn’t heal you it causes more damage to the flesh and makes you more susceptible to infection

    When you fill the torch you're supposed to hold the fuel upside down and push it into the bottom of the torch. Holding it up right like you did just forces accelerant into the torch, that's why it wouldn't light. Just some good info for future reference lol. I love you, tho! ☺
